Well, yesterday was the last day of school for the girl and for us! We had two back to back really big nights the last two nights for the kid. Monday night, we attended the SENIOR awards ceremony at school. She received a record number of scholarships and awards. I think the final total came in at mid $3,ooo which is nothing compared to the hefty UNC price, but we will take it! Every little bit helps. She received $1,000 just for being Valedictorian. All of her hard work has definitely paid off and we are seeing it now. The speaker made a beautiful speech about her and that's when it became real and emotional. Haven't had the chance to really feel anything until now. We've been running at 100 mph. If that wasn't enough excitement, last night we raced out to SUNY Farmingdale College to watch the girl receive 3 amazing awards for softball : All County Scholar Athlete, All Conference Player of the YEAR and All County Shortstop! WOW, we were gushing proud and then she was invited to play in an ALL STAR County Softball game with the best of the best! She had a beautiful hit out to left field and that just put a fantastic cap on everything. Beyond proud moments in the last two nights. How did we get so lucky?
So today, was the first day the girl could sleep in with no pressing obligations for the first time in 6 months, not kidding.
(her coach since she's 5)
We started Final Exams and that's that. Looking forward to having off on Friday but we have a jampacked weekend of early grad parties for Charlotte's two close friends and Father's Day!
Today, I took her to get a much needed haircut before prom and graduation. Going, going. And brought the two dresses for alterations as well. Don't even ask how much that was. Wow.
That's the fast catch up for now, I'm mentally and emotionally exhausted and we haven't even gotten to PROM and GRADUATION yet. Dear Lord.
Sorry about the loss of Web's Uncle Gene a few days ago.
Happy 80th Birthday to MJ Web! Cheers to you and many, many more xo Hugs, Annie
