EIGHT days and counting! Until we get the girl off to UNC.
Can't believe it has already come to that time. I've spent the last 3 weeks packing her life up! Last thing left is her clothes, that's it.
Now it's just a haircut appt and the final-check the list twice thing.
We had a sad few days here with the unexpected passing of Charlotte's softball team's Asst Coach/bus driver who has been a part of Charlotte's life since she was brought up to the Championship Varsity team in 8th grade. He died in his sleep. He wasn't old. He was a staple in the schools/community. His wake and funeral today showed how much he was adored and loved. He was the kindest, most generous, humble man on the planet. Not one mean, nasty bone in his body. It was an honor to know him. More people should be more like a "Jimmy" A LOT more people. Really makes you reflect on your own life and people in it. How they treat you, how you treat people, Let that soak in right?
(this pic was with Jimmy at the softball dinner)
Anyway, so a sad few days. The funeral ended today with coaches, athletes, students and teachers lining the driveway of the school where they drove his casket through. What an AMAZING man.
(people lined the street to pay tribute to this one of a kind guy)
Charlotte finally finished both of her summer jobs as of yesterday. I'm glad to finally have her to myself! I miss her already and she hasn't even left yet.
So we have some plans to squeeze some time in in the next few days. We are all going to see the new Toy Story movie since that was the movie that defines her childhood. I'm sure we will need tissues :(
Bittersweet here. Lots of emotion. But you have to let yourself feel it.
Hope you're all good. Ann
