It's a really great day to be a KNICKS fan! What a game last night!
How could you not be so excited over this? 53 years! Wow. So amazing. What an energy in NYC!
Well, Charlotte was away since Friday morning until late Saturday night on her fun SENIOR trip to Hershey, PA! They had a lot of fun. It was brutally hot, but so much fun she said. They came home right before the game ended last night and were able to watch it on the bus ride home as they were crawling through the Lincoln Tunnel, she said the city was INSANE!
We woke up bright and early today to get her to work by 10 AM. She was dragging! While she was working, we were on grad party prep outside working in the hot sun to get this place in tip top shape. I had the vision to create a little stone patio on the side of the house where the big tent will be. It's unused space and will be where I will set up the entire bar area in front of the tent. It took us two days to complete it and it turned out really nice. I worked hard trimming things back and tending to the garden beds while Web tried to fix one of the inground sprinklers. We still have to paint the back deck and I will paint the front entryway steps, all of the windows and power washing will be done closer to the party because it will just get dirty in the next few weeks leading up to the party. It's just trying to tackle all of these projects and go to work and tend to all of the Charlotte things happening left and right!
Tomorrow night, we will attend her big SENIOR awards assembly. She has a pretty dress picked out and I'm looking forward to it. She brought home her yearbook, grad cap and gown and all of her cords and stoles to wear around her gown! That's when the emotions started rolling in for me. Wow. That bright yellow Valedictorian stole is something! Then she has another for Class President and about 7 colorful cords that represent her belonging to or holding an officer position in various clubs, honor societies, etc. Just wow. It's overwhelming and what a proud moment.
So, two official days left of school here then Regents/Finals. The grad parties are already starting this upcoming weekend. Some kids are choosing to do them before the actual graduation, which, um, I'm not that crazy about. Too superstitious. Then the following week PROM and GRADUATION! Yikessss.
So lots and lots and lots happening like grenades being thrown! All good, all emotional.
Have a great start to the week. xo, Ann
