Yup.
We know she's a rockstar in our eyes, but when she gets a unanimous teacher vote for Student of the Year in her high school. Welp. Shucks! It was such a nice surprise as she and I sat in the audience on Monday night at the awards ceremony. It was the last award of the night and I was beaming proud. Her Dad missed it for a school obligation but I think there's another Senior awards assembly in June. Hopefully, he can attend.
Not only did she win Student of the Year, she also won a whole slew of other awards- Highest ACT/SAT score, top of her class, a Nassau County Volunteer/Academic Excellence award, the Spanish award, AP Calc. I was and am beyond proud!
So Monday was busy and late. Yesterday she had softball practice to prep for the upcoming play offs, off tonight and practice the rest of the week. I have a big retirement party for my colleague I'm in charge of Friday night. So I'm running around like a chicken to try and get it all done by tomorrow night. OY! Will finally be nice to get out of the house and socialize though. We've been going nonstop here.
Just a quick check in today on this hump day. Char asked if I wanted to get a Starbuck's drink after school today like we used to! I'm giddy over it. The little things, right?
Hugs, Ann
