Happy Wednesday guys!
Well, last night was something. We were so excited to finally have the chance to watch OUR girl on her SENIOR night play ball. We've paid our dues and sat to cheer on the others for 5 years. Flowers, posters and gifts from the team. A nice tribute to them. I was hoping that Charlotte may have the opportunity to break her own record on their home turf, on her SENIOR night. Barb and Spiro came. And then... Well, it didn't turn out quite the way we had hoped. The girl running neck and neck with Charlotte for most homeruns was on the opposing team. Charlotte got up to bat, and what did their terrible coach instruct them to do? Intentionally walk her. Bowled the ball and had her standing there, almost to humiliate her, Not once, not twice, not three times but FOUR times. It was horrible, sad for Charlotte and awful to watch. Especially on what was supposed to be a celebratory night. It was overshadowed by the most unsportsmanlike display I've seen in 12 years. And we've seen softball allover the states. From here to Boston to Maryland and college level. They were heckling, barking, screaming while we were up at bat and the pitcher was releasing, it really was a disappointing and disgusting display. So it really put a damper on her SENIOR night. I feel like they deserve a re-do. It was terrible :(
We managed to grab a few pics before the craziness ensued. We are beaming proud of this slugger, if you couldn't tell.
Their game today maybe rained out and truthfully she could use the break and us too.
We will see in the next few games if they'll make the playoffs. I really hope they do and I hope there is a REMATCH. LOLLLLL Now that would be ESPN worthy.
Spiro was nearly ejected for what he was yelling at the other coach and umps! Can't blame him. Man. Sigh,
Anyway, new day, but I couldn't shake it. Dad is still on the mend and coming along slowly. We are just trying to get through these next few weeks of SENIOR lasts.
Hugs guys xo Ann
