Happy Sunday everyone.
Just wanted to pop on here with a few updates about my Dad. He was released on Friday from the hospital but was being sent home with a long road of recovery ahead of him. He had pneumonia that actually had become worse after the procedure he had on Thursday where he was told it was be 100% better. So there's was a lot of disappointment with this "team" of people working with him, he wasn't even being cared for the way he should have been, not being walked around to avoid pneumonia, they call it a research hospital for a reason and would not recommend anyone go there. So, we brought him home. He was not improving in there, but actually getting worse, which made zero sense to anyone. So, I drove them home from the city on Friday, we got him up to the apartment and settled and he has a ton of medication he has to be on until this all passes.
He is walking around the halls with Mom or us with a walker to get everything moving. For the fact that we are able to get him up and moving and they rarely did this at the hospital is astonishing. So, here we are. WE will get him where he needs to be. Last night he had a really rough night of it, but we are praying he will improve.
My Mom is exhausted but the BEST caretaker in the world. He certainly is a lucky man. Some people are caretakers and some are definitely not and she's one of the greatest. God bless her. I learned from the BEST. Char and I spent some time visiting him yesterday. It was definitely good for his soul. He's a BIG Charlotte fan. He loves talking all things UNC and softball with her.
(she had an excellent game on Friday- a solid triple (that was supposed to be a HR but they called her to stay at 3rd bc it hit the pavement! Boo and doubles, RBIs)
Other than that we are all exhausted. Looking forward for all of this to be behind us so we can celebrate all of the upcoming exciting stuff.
Back to work tomorrow. We have late teacher conferences AGAIN. First time we will miss one of Char's games, but her AWESOME Aunt Barb is stepping in so someone is there.
I'll keep you posted on my Dad. Chat soon. Hugs, Ann
