LOTS GOING ON!

 I'm here! Sorry for the radio silence but this week has been CRAZY! So much to catch up on since Charlotte officially committed to UNC Chapel Hill! Like SO much.

First, the outpouring of congratulations and excitement over our girl going to this university has been over the top, outrageous. I've NEVER seen people, teachers, strangers, parents be so excited over a university! It has quite the reputation, which helps with the decision. SO freaking awesome.

So since the big decision and announcement, we have hit the ground running! We've been going to softball games all week, then two nights ago ventured into NYC to the famous Sardi's for a dinner for UNC admitted students from the area. All while I've been battling an awful sinus infection. So the deposit for UNC has been sent in and as of last night we've been booking flights to set up for orientation in July and then we will start to plan things for her move in sometime late August. In the meantime, once she committed on Monday, she's been trying to hook up with a compatible roommate. It's not like when we went to college, you show up and meet your roommate for the first time on move in day. No. There are websites to try and match up with someone compatible, yadda yadda, it's like dating. So it's a process. Charlotte is in the thick of that now (on top of everything else!)

Aaaand, we just got back from another softball game where she hit not 1 BUT 2 homeruns! So lots and lots going on. We also found her prom dress this week, so it's done and paid in full. Getting there...

So that's a lot to catch up on. I also promised a pic or two from Easter. Charlotte's boyfriend Michael met the whole family. He's such a great kid.

All good here. So much exciting, "real" stuff happening in real time. I'll keep you posted with all the news as it unfolds.
