Happy Friday all.
Well, my Dad had his big surgery last Friday in NYC at Sloan. It was more extensive than anticipated and he wound up having complications. Unfortunately, he's still in the city in the hospital as of today. It's been a long, emotional haul and a lot of travel back and forth to NYC which has been a lot for everyone, especially my Mom. He had another unanticipated procedure late yesterday because he wound up getting pneumonia after the surgery. So, they went in yesterday to try and remove the built up fluid in the lungs. He's now on an IV for that. Depending on his numbers, etc. That will determine if he will be released this weekend. Then, recovery at home. We have a lot to celebrate so he needs to get better!
Speaking of celebrating, the slugger is doing awesome. Still glowing over the big college decision. The Principal of our school made a special visit yesterday to myself and the husband to congratulate us on all the Charlotte news and what a great school, so hard to get into, really nice stuff he said :) That was nice. Then a few days ago, Charlotte's boyfriend with the help of his Dad came to set up a big surprise for Char when she got home from practice. They went out and bought a whole bunch of UNC swag and goodies to celebrate her. She was SO surprised! It was so thoughtful. Wow.
I took off work today to take my Mom into the city to visit Dad. Charlotte has a game tonight, but the weather is looking crummy. Not sure if it will rain or not. The best part of this insane week? It's over LOL And she doesn't have a game for the first time in a long time on Saturday. So maybe I will get the chance to exhale and reset.
I'll let you know what's up with my Dad. Hugs and Happy Friday! Ann
