Today was the girl's first softball game and the WON! Extra innings back and forth - tied, ahead, tied, ahead went until the bottom of the 8th inning aaaaand the girl hit not ONE but TWO (2 run) HOMERUNS!!!!!! What a way to start her Senior Season. Really, really great day!
We were out there from 10-1 pm shivering out butts off but it was worth it! The team, the girl were all so happy! It's a very young team, but at least the girl who the coach has on 3rd also plays travel ball so she knows what she's doing and so does the catcher. So they are beginning to find their groove together, which if you know anything about sports dynamic, that is most crucial. They have to trust each other, have each other's backs in the infield and have to work harmoniously together. So today was a great start.
"Little Derek" as my Dad calls her is very happy. Especially because this morning at breakfast she said, "Mom they are going to crush us!" LOLLLL Nope :)

Happy Weekend everyone. I'm off now to go pick up some Spring pretties to sprinkle about now that St. Patrick's Day is long gone.
One more bit of news- Charlotte received a huge science award that she'll be given at a dinner in April. One student from each school in the county is nominated by the Science Dept. and she was awarded it in Nassau County! GO CHAR!
