Happy 2026!
New year, fresh start and all that jazz, right?
We had a very last minute get together here for Charlotte last night. She asked if a few friends could come over for NY Eve before a big party they were headed to, then back here after the ball dropped to have a few of the girls sleep over since the party was around the corner. Naturally, I ran out last minute to scoop up all the snacks for 17 year olds, a whole bunch of delish appetizers, 2 pizzas, you name it. I found a box of disco balls and decorations I had already in my supply and BAM! A NY Eve party was made in no time! The kids were so appreciative and had a blast. Four of them spent the night last night in Charlotte's old playroom downstairs. We had enough room for the girls to crash.
They all woke up around 9:30 this morning, we bought them breakfast and the last guest just left!
Charlotte just left for a power walk in the snow with her good friend. And I'm chilling watching Netflix, this hostess is tiiiired.
The whole house is picked up and Christmas is put away, so that's a good feeling :)
Charlotte and I went over to see my parents yesterday. We were able to take my Mom food shopping since she's limited with what she can do with her shoulder in a sling. She has an appt next week with a surgeon for a full shoulder replacement so I hope she gets the relief she needs soon. Hard when it's your dominant arm. She can't do anything. I feel bad.
So today, we chill and I'm not mad about it.
Happy New Year everyone! Hope it's the best year yet. xo Ann
