AKA, Thursday! LOL
Almost there. I think I can.
Well, did I mention our new-ish microwave, brand new when we had the kitchen done 10 years ago, NEVER use it. When I say never I mean it. We are not microwave people, completely died, sparked almost went on fire Halloween weekend. Yup. Since when do barely used appliances have a ten year shelf life? Crazy. So, it was then a matter of removing the original one, which Web was able to and then replacing it. Which, he wasn't able to. So we hired an electrician colleague of ours to install it. It's finally in. So the holidays can live on!
We are hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. We've done it before. My Mom's shoulder is bothering her. She needs rotator cuff surgery but she's just having the shots for now. She had the other shoulder done when they were in NJ and it's a pretty big surgery. So, to alleviate the stress of her cooking and hosting. I can take a little of that off her plate. So that's that.
So now I'm just trying to figure out organizing TDay and then Christmas shortly after. Most important, is family. All the rest will fall into place. So we will have a packed house. Which always brings me joy. My Mom buys all the food anyway, she insists. So that's reaaaallly nice! And she makes the turkey. I think we have off from school Wednesday the day before, which will definitely help in the setting everything up.
So all good stuff on our end. I just dropped Charlotte off for work. And took her for a little Starbucks holiday treat. Their special Christmas drinks dropped today. So that's something we started doing together over COVID and continue to do periodically. It's the little things you know?
So, I'm in pretty good shape with the girl's birthday/Christmas shopping. We are taking her and a bunch of her friends out for a nice birthday dinner on Thanksgiving weekend. She's excited for that. I'm excited I don't have to host at the house. Gives me a "little" break.
That's all for now. Weather is starting to get cold fast!
Have a great weekend. I'll check in soon. xo Ann
