Happy Hump Day!

Quick check in guys. We've been busy getting Web back to feeling better and Charlotte off to that 2 day New England's Finest Camp.

Lots of emotions these last two days with the camp. She played for 12 hours yesterday. Lots of breaks, but still. Ridiculously long day. She had the opportunity to speak one on one with a few of the schools she was interested in playing for. Unfortunately, Amherst already has their 2026 roster complete, so she was a bit bummed about that BUT she met with the MIT coach who said when you put your application in email the coach and they will red flag the application with a "potential athlete" flag. So to me, that was promising.

She has day 2 of the camp today. Shorter day thank goodness. This has all been SO much. Emotionally and physically on everyone. When she just received all of her college scores a few weeks ago, it kind of changes the ballgame literally. In the sense that she would now be able to apply to more Ivy League schools, most are D1, which she knew she wouldn't be able to play with a bio chem/medicine major, so that's why she was putting those little Ivy schools with D3 softball in the mix. So, we are giving it to God at this point and we will see how it all unfolds. Super proud of her and everything she's accomplished to get to this point. Like the coaches said, if she were a middle of the road kid, with average academics she could go play for one of these smaller, not as great schools, but that's not who she is. So it's a weird situation for her. But all good.

So, we are looking forward to moving on and she sits for her driver's ed final tomorrow. Technically, we can then make an appt. for her driving test. And then she can drive immediately when she turns 17 in December. No waiting. So we may have a full fledged driver as of Dec 1st! Yikessssss

I am also trying to get my head on straight for the Jersey Shore on the 16th! We cannot wait. CANNOT WAIT! So I'm gathering things for that and also to make Char's first day of SENIOR YEAR (gulp) special. I had this idea to collect some nostalgic figures from the shows/movies she loved as a little girl and attach balloons to them wishing her good luck on Day 1 out the door! So I've been working on that, too. All good stuff!

Hope this post finds you well. Web is on the road to recovery. The stitches come out next week so that will be great.

Hugs, Ann
