We're Baack and Exhausted.

 Happy Monday everyone.

We got home around 9:30 last night from a HOT, tiring softball travel weekend in CT. Unfortunately, the drives to and from CT for us have been brutal. It's out of our control and just really based on the horrible times we have to go and leave. It's somethin' alright. 4 1/2 hours to get there and 4 to get home last night. It should really only take 2 hrs. 20 min to give you an idea.

Anyway, Charlotte got to the field on Friday with enough time to play around 25 min of the last game. Oh well, we tried! Then we met up with The Web, Srs. for a bite to eat. Called it an early night because we had an early wake up call to play ball on Saturday. It was HOT. And you can't say otherwise. Really hot. So hot in fact that 4 adults huddling under a plastic tent only made it worse. So myself and an another mom had some sun shelter under the awning of the giftshop. It was horrible. She played 3 games and then we headed back to the hotel to shower and meet up with the girls and coaches for a team dinner. It was nice, but with any sport, it's cliquey. Like the team is basically split unto two. Which kind of stinks. Charlotte is not part of the "mean girl crew"- Man, they are ruthless. The comments they make about teammates and the colleges that they are going to would make your head spin! Really rude bunch of girls. Charlotte has her nice core group of 4 girls, who are all humble and come from nice families. But yeesh.

Anyway, I met up with a few of the other moms I've become friendly with at the hotel bar. We shared some much needed laughs and a few drinks. Just what we all needed.

Yesterday was about 10 degrees hotter than Saturday. If you could imagine that. I think they said it reached 95. Kids were not feeling well, had to sit out, it was horrible because they didn't have their first game until 2:30. Waaay too late in that sun. She played 2 games. We got in the car to head home around 5:30 and didn't walk in the door until almost 9:30 last night. We were hot, tired and grumpy.

We found out we have to get back on the road Thursday night! Her first field time is 7 AM on Friday! WHHHAAT? In Massachusetts. So yeah, it's been a lot. But this is our last one this weekend for the summer. It's the most important one for Charlotte as it's New England's finest with all the colleges she's applying to. So major prayers for this one. Send her good vibes please.

I'll check in before we leave with a pic of our new couch. It's here and fits in the room fabulous. There's been a lot of lounging already on it. So mission accomplished. The gang loves it!

So, we have a HUGE weekend coming up. After this weekend, I hope we can enjoy what's left of the summer. We need some fun around here. Everything here is grinding, grinding, schoolwork, studying, softball, lessons, practices. It's time for a break. I think we all earned it.

Okay guys, hope you stay cool this week.

Hugs,

Annie
