Whoa, lots and lots of rain! My poor aching sinuses are suffering. But last night, it POURED and POURED with flooding, etc. Great for the plants, but definitely didn't cool things off. Super humid and uncomfortable here. Don't know about where you guys ae but the weather this summer for us has not been good. Ugh,
(hydrangeas have tripled in size this year)
Anyway, what's happening in our exciting lives? Charlotte is plugging away at work until noon every day. She gets a really nice paycheck at the end of July so there's definitely incentive there and tips. Plus she's done every day at noon which allows her to have somewhat of a life this summer!
She earned recognition for her story writing for that all girls writing club she was asked to be a part of. The school posted a nod to the girls yesterday on social media. She's a really good writer. I noticed it most recently when she shared her college essay with us. I was like, wow, okay Char!
She has softball practice in between, which is far out East, which no one understands because all of the girls live in the other direction. Makes zero sense. But, she has practice tonight and Thursday nights. And driver's ed in between. So she definitely keeps us busy, weekly and on the weekends with softball. She's supposed to have 2 games again in CT this Friday, which she will probably miss for work. Then 2 games Saturday and I don't know about Sunday. We will have to stay in a hotel this time because its waaaay too much driving back and forth. We saw that last weekend when we had to get her back here for her boyfriend's graduation party then back again on Sunday. It was just awful. So, we will definitely stay in the hotel. The drive from here to CT can take anywhere from 2 1/2 hours to 4 which we found out the hard way. It's a 2 lane highway. So it's brutal :(
The following weekend is her big showcase with all of her Northeast universities, so fingers crossed and we'll see. Just can't wait for this summer travel ball to be done. It's A LOT. Lots of emotional ups and downs, lots of time in the car and waiting, lots of hot weather, lots of not wanting to talk to anyone. I get it.
So, we are moving along here, trying to get some stuff done around the house. I bit the bullet and bought another couch for the living room. We needed more space to lounge. We had a small couch on one side and arm chairs on the other. We needed another couch instead of the chairs. So thanks to that Middle School extra job I had the extra money and it should be here on Monday. Can't wait.
Barb's 20th anniversary is Thursday, which means we are right behind them in December! Yikes. Spiro is taking her away to Cape Cod for a few days to celebrate. He's such a good guy. And truly adores her. She hit the jackpot there.
My Mom will be on Marina duty driving her back and forth to work and she will be staying with them at their apartment while they are gone for a few days. Good company for them.
So that's all for now. Hope you are all good.
Hugs,
Ann
