Weekend Recap!

 Busy, buuuusssy here.

Starting with Friday, right after school I went to the teacher "End of Year" party at a pub with a few of my colleagues. The husband doesn't do school parties, so he was the UBER. It started RIGHT after school. I got home around 8:15 PM because we had an EARLY wake up field time on Saturday for the first weekend of travel ball... At least I had a few laughs at the party. I hadn't been out socially in 7 months I counted. That's sad.

Anyway, We left the house on Saturday morning at 7:15 AM to drive about 45 minutes away to play ball for EIGHT long hours... The coach had her playing shortstop and second base. He's trying to feel them out where he needs them most. It's a new, nicer, better coach and great team. Different girls, some are the same, but much lighter, more fun vibe. Which makes a WORLD of difference for Charlotte.

She played amazing all weekend. A few of the new girls on her team are seniors and committed to playing at various colleges. They are good. So it's nice to play with good players. We crawled in the door last night at 6:45 PM and collapsed. Then woke up at 6 AM today (Sunday) and did it all over again. We made it home by 4 this time, but still. LOOOOOOOOOONG days out there.

The girl is beat. She just got out of a really hot shower and she is sore. Tomorrow, she has the Varsity Awards ceremony so she won't be able to make practice, Shucks! (HA!) Hey, they start all this travel nonsense when school is still going on with end of year awards, commitments, people are gonna be busy. Too bad.

So, next weekend we are leaving Saturday morning for the Jersey Shore where she'll play the whole weekend. Then after that, THANK GOODNESS, she has a 2-3 week travel break until it picks up again the end of June. So we'll take it. Her body needs the rest and so do we.

Now, we are trying to do all the laundry and all the school things we couldn't do because we were softballin ALL weekend.
