FIRST DAY OF SUMMER VACAY!

Happy Monday from the happy teachers!

Our first Monday not working this summer and it feels good.

The girl had early driver's ed at 7 AM though :( They pick her up at the house AND drop her off which is great! So she had a very early day and then had the lecture part of it from 1-3. Busy, but it's only twice a week so it's not bad. She'll technically be able to take her road test in August which we will have her do. Fun, fun! She's doing great with it.

So we've had a nice break to reset from softball, it starts up full force after the 4th of July. Then it's non-stop tournaments in 100 degrees. Joy! So we are taking advantage of every free moment now.

I have a laundry list of TO DOs around here. I wanted to get a new market umbrella to provide some shade in the front of the house. It's full sun and the flowers take a beating. So I did that. Next up, the front doors needed their annual staining. Did that this morning. We haven't had a doorbell at the front door for about 4 months now. Put that together and put it up. The linen closet needs an overhaul. I will probably work on that tomorrow. My dresser needs an overhaul too and my summer clothes need to be brought down from the attic.

(the hydrangeas are huuuge)

I have dinner plans to kick off the summer with my friend Cindy tomorrow night.

Charlotte has been the social butterfly since Prom Day. With back to back graduations and parties. She is pooped. I'm glad there will be a lull this week to catch our breath. She may be spending the 4th of July for the day with her boyfriend's family on Fire Island, but not sure yet.

We will have a low key 4th. Maybe get some marinated steaks from our favorite Italian deli and grill out. We did the same last year. It was great.

Still super hot here like 95 degree hot. Unusual for this early, last week it was over 100. Yikes.

Stay cool guys. Off I go to start another project!

Love, Ann
