Happy Memorial Day everyone!
(the college stadium was so cool)
We had a whirlwind of a softball championship weekend here. The girls played both Saturday AND Sunday at a beautiful real deal huge stadium at SUNY Farmingdale. It was a big deal. So exciting for them and us. They were playing the #1 seated Carl Place who wins the championship every year. But, you always have hope. They knew going in it would be super tough to beat them. They held them 0-0 both days until the 4th inning. So if it wasn't for their college committed 18 year old fast pitcher they would have had a real good chance of beating them for the title. But it came down to the pitching. Oh well. So they didn't come home with the championship title but they did get a plaque for their conference AND guess who was awarded ALL CONFERENCE player from her team? YUP. The coaches in Nassau County from all the other teams who watched her play all season nominated Charlotte for the award! So while we were sad they lost, this was a HUGE exciting moment for Char! She receives the award in 2 weeks back at the college. All of her hard work and efforts were noticed by coaches on Long Island. SO PROUD of her!
(ALL CONFERENCE PLAYER!)
So, we decided to celebrate with the cheering crew with Shake Shack back at the house. It was a last minute low key thing and it was great. Just what we needed to close out the season on a high note!
And get our heads wrapped around the fact that Travel Softball starts next Saturday! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO No break, no nothing here. Jesus Take The Wheel.
So, today we are getting our acts together with schoolwork, errands and everything that went to the side until school ball was over. In the next few weeks Charlotte has 3 awards ceremonies and travel starts, plus her 1 Regents Exam left to take. And the Junior Prom. And of the teachers here end of year commitments. OY! The thought of JUNE is scaring me. But you know my motto- Hour By Hour!
Thanks for all the softball support this school season. We felt it!
Hugs, Ann
