Happy Marathon Sunday from NYC.
Charlotte finally had the chance to get dressed up and enjoy her teenage self at a big Halloween party Friday night. She looked great! She was a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader! She rocked that costume!
She made it home early enough to get some sleep in before she and I voyaged out to New Jersey for an all day softball tournament. ALL.DAY. Going there, no traffic at 8 AM on a Saturday. Coming home at 6 PM on a Saturday? Fuggetabouit! Lots of traffic, plus the NYC Marathon is this weekend and we literally drove right over the bridge and set up for it. The Coach couldn't make it to the softball yesterday, he was coaching his own team, so it was just me and my girl again. Today, he picked the short straw and took her. It will be a short day though, not as many games as yesterday. They had to leave at 5:45 AM (that coupled with Daylight Savings and the marathon...) yikes! She's already playing as we speak and her 2nd game will be at 10:30, so the travel shouldn't be that bad.
We couldn't be more excited to say good-bye to this intense, crazy, 2 1/2 months of traveling for softball. I'm still getting over being sick, too.
The girl gets the next TWO days off from school. Lucky. Our school doesn't even give us off on Election Day! Like how is THAT okay? Wonder how that was negotiated into a contract?
Anyway, can't wait to see the girl when she gets home and watch her crawl into bed. There's anther costume party tonight. We'll see if she's awake enough to go!
Happy Sunday guys.
Love,
Annie
