We're Back! From Softball In Boston

 Happy Tired Monday!

We got home late yesterday from our 3 day trip to Boston, MA for Charlotte's College Showcase. It was a whirlwind for sure. Lots of travel, early field call times (early like 6:45 AM early) crazy change in temps, 8 hour days on the field. It was a lot, to say the least. Emotional, physical, mental all the things rolled into one weekend. But, the girl did great! Defensively she played amazing! Now, when you reach out to these college coaches, they barely respond, ask you for your game schedule, say they'll "try" and make it, and you don't know if they're there or not, they don't speak to the prospects, no one knows who they are because it's not like they are decked out in their college gear. It's such a strange, weird dynamic and way to run things if you ask me. Like why so secretive, really? Wouldn't it be nice if they came up to the players to let them know they're there? What's the big deal? Or at least approach the travel coach so he has a heads up? I don't know. It's really bizarre to me.

But we're doing what we're supposed to be doing. Keeping her highlight reel updated, reaching out to the college coaches, keeping Charlotte up on her batting lessons and her academics. It takes a village, but we're trying. I just hope and pray it works out...

Anyway, Mary Jo Web came to meet up with us on Saturday to watch 2 of the games. It was a beautiful day weather wise. Started out with frost and freezing, ended with weather in the 70s! We met up for dinner at a local Irish pub in Mass for dinner with her later on. Was nice to catch up with her over dinner.

We woke up on Sat at 5 AM to drive a 1/2 hour away to the field, then did it again yesterday (Sunday) then after all the games on Sunday, I drove home 5 hours in crazy traffic. We are EXHAUSTED.

As a matter of fact as soon as I post this I'm crawling into bed. The kid was out there again today, as tired as she was, hitting off the tee in the yard. We have a different batting coach starting with her on Wednesday to tweak some things.

Guess where I'm headed next Saturday early in the AM? Pennsylvania to do it allover again! LOL  I'm flying solo with Charlotte as the Coach has his own X-Country meet... We are both ready to drop. I kept my cupping/acupuncture appt for today, as bad as I wanted to cancel it, it will help me sleep better. I'm finding instant relief with the cupping. It's great.

Okay guys, super tired. Wishing you all a great start to the week. Thanks for all your well wishes and support for Char.

Love,

Ann
