Amherst College Recap.

 Happy Hump Day guys!

Well, we just got back from our 2 day visit to Amherst College in Massachusetts.

We were blown away. For the first time all three of us agreed it was a perfect fit for Charlotte. It only took us 3 hours to get there too. Which is a huge bonus, especially if we will be traveling to watch her play ball. That really is a BIG factor. The distance. Even she said, "I can't be in a car for longer than this." Agreed.

Most colleges are in run down, depressed surrounding towns. Hamilton was. There was literally NOTHING there once you came off the campus. Desolate and depressed. The school was beautiful though, but no life. Amherst was a completely different ballgame. The college is basically smack in the middle of a bustling town/city. The campus was gorgeous and wide open and filled with life and a state of the art Science Research Cemter which is something Char wants to pursue. They have a 3 billion dollar endowment. They have paid summer science research internships. They have an amazing athletic program. It's super competitive and $88,000 a year. But if she gets in (fingers crossed) we'll move mountains to make it work. There are no merit scholarships at these prestigious schools because everyone is on the same level. So we'll see... Anyway, it was a beautiful trip filled with excitement.

We took a 2 hour tour of the school, which was very informative but very long. We all agreed it could have been done in an hour. So we didn't return home until about 4 PM yesterday, unpacked, got our heads on and recapped the trip. Today, we have a jampacked day filled with dentist appts, Charlotte has an unexpected game and we have dinner at Mom's for Barb's birthday tonight. She also has a late travel ball practice from 7-9PM tonight. Like I said, JAMPACKED day. I have so many projects/things I want to get done around here, but I keep getting roadblocked. Anyway, do what we can I guess.

So today, super busy. Tomorrow, I really want to work on outside a bit. But again, we'll see.

Hope the slugger has a good game tonight. Fingers crossed!

Love, Ann
