Hey Y'all! We're Baaack.

 Happy Monday guys.

We are back from vacation. Got back late afternoon yesterday and slept like a bear last night, We had a beautiful time in the low countraaay. We love it down there. But even the locals said they've never experienced heat and humidity like that. They said it's been AWFUL. If you have breathing issues, that's not the place for you.

As you know, we stayed in the home of my friends, the people I was a nanny for many years. They really have embraced me like a second daughter and I'm so grateful to have them in my life. And man, they are the most humble, un-snobbish people you ever want to meet. Like, you know when you meet people that think they have a lot of money, nothing like what these people have, and they have an air about them? Yeah, those people, well they couldn't be more opposite. Those are the people I love to be around. HUGE hearts.

So, we pulled up to their house and our jaws dropped. Pictures don't do it justice. They live on Spring Island which is in South Carolina. It's a very remote island. It takes almost 30 minutes to exit the island and be on the mainland if that gives you an idea. SUPER remote, on the water, huge dock leading from the back of their house, everything you would want in a get away house. It has an attached guest house, that was bigger than most people's real houses. It was two floors, with a kitchen, dining room, living room and 4 bedrooms/2 baths. And it's own screened in porch. THAT was just the guest house! LOL

The main house was all open, surrounded by huge doors and windows on all sides so you could take in the view. The main bath upstairs was attached to the main bedroom and it was by far, Charlotte and my favorite spot. BIGGEST bathroom we'd ever seen attached to a full laundry room and his/hers walk in closets. Almost every room also had a fireplace. They had several screened in and open porches attached to the house. Then, on the other side of the house a ginormous, garage and gym area.

(this was only HALF of the bathroom lol)

Imagine? This is their winter getaway house? You should see their farm in CT. We went to some places we haven't been before. Savannah, was one of them. Beautiful history and architecture. We walked the famous river walk/waterfront. Was definitely seedy and filled with lots of tourist spots, but further in the city, was beautiful. I picked up Jeanmarie a pretty thank you gift in Savannah.

We also went to this remote, secluded spot, Hunting Island Beach. We all agreed, the most beautiful beach we'd ever been at. And we've been on a lot of beaches. It was such a hidden gam in Beaufort.

(loved this beach)

We took a day trip to Hilton Head, which we've been to a few times. We spent a full day on the actual island we were staying at and swam in their beautiful saltwater pool, ate at the best restaurant, watched the most amazing sunsets and I shot my first 20 gauge semi automatic shotgun! No, not at a person, eh hemmm, Web and I went clay shooting. It was crazy and fun and scary all at once! Our instructor calmed my nerves. This wasn't for the weak, that's for sure. He said, some people come and are shaking so bad, they can't even do it. So I hit a few, and was super proud of myself. Web did great. He's also had experience shooting :) So definitely wasn't nervous.

(LOL)

They had a huge fitness complex on the island and horses and a big nature preserve. We even ran into a huge rattlesnake on our way to dinner! Well, that scared the bleep out of us!

All in all, it was 7 days of wonderful memory making. I'm so grateful we were able to unplug for a week, reconnect with Charlotte and clear our heads. Because, you know, life gets crazy here in a week. With s-s-school and coaching obligations.

(love this kid)

We are also heading upstate this weekend to see The Web, Srs. So yes, back to Crazy Island here.

Tried to share just a few of the 100 pics I took. I'll share little by little throughout the week.

Missed you guys!
